Coworks brings Roundtables back at GCUC 2025

Our topic: Scale up without losing your soul

Growth is almost always the goal, right? More leads, more members, and more space!

More operators that I get to talk to are expanding to multiple locations, and new spaces are opening in secondary and tertiary markets.

But as someone who works with coworking owners and operators every day, I know that growth isn’t just about adding more square footage. It’s about scaling what makes your space special without losing the essence of your community.

That’s why I’m excited to head to GCUC Boston 2025, happening April 7-10. Not only will Coworks be there with a table for demos and chatting, but we’re also sponsoring one of my favorite parts of the event: the Roundtables—real, open, interactive conversations about the topics that truly matter to our industry.

Let’s have real conversations, not just panels

I love a good keynote as much as anyone. But sometimes the best insights often come from the smaller, unfiltered conversations we have over coffee, in the hallways, or during a breakout session. That’s why the Roundtables are such a critical part of GCUC and why they are back!

Coworks is sponsoring these discussions for the second year in a row, and for good reason. These sessions are intimate (capped at 12 people per table) and candid. No slides, no speeches—just a chance to sit down with other operators and dig into what’s really working, what’s challenging, and what no one tells you before you scale.

Last year, our Roundtable on Building Vibrant Communities was packed—twice. This year, I’m tackling another massive challenge: scaling from one coworking space to multiple locations.

Grow without losing what makes you great

Expanding to multiple locations is an exciting milestone, but let me tell you—it’s not just about opening a new set of doors. It’s about making sure each new space retains the culture, energy, and experience that made your first location thrive.

That’s exactly what I’ll be talking about at my Roundtable: "Managing More Campuses: Best Practices for Multiple Locations." If you’re in the middle of an expansion or even just thinking about it, let’s talk about the good, the bad, and the real.

I can’t wait for this discussion. Scaling up isn’t just about copying and pasting what worked in your first location—it’s about figuring out how to maintain your core culture while adapting to new markets, different member needs, and the operational complexities that come with growth.

I want to talk about the tough stuff: hiring the right people, making sure operations run smoothly across all locations, keeping your programming consistent but flexible, and ensuring that every single member—whether they’re in your first space or your newest one—feels like they belong. That’s the challenge, and I know there are operators out there who have figured out amazing ways to do it. Let’s share those insights together.

This Roundtable will focus on:

  • Operations – How to keep things running smoothly when you’re managing more than one space

  • Culture – How to scale your community without watering it down

  • Programming – How to create events and initiatives that work at scale

  • Hiring – How to build a team that supports your growth without burning out

As ever, coworking’s future is being shaped right now

Coworking isn’t slowing down. But growing smart? That’s a different challenge. And I believe that the best way to tackle it is by talking to the people who are doing it every day.

So if you’re heading to GCUC Boston 2025, don’t just listen—get in the mix. And if you’re thinking about scaling, already managing multiple locations, or just want to hear what’s working for others, join my Roundtable. Let’s talk, share, and figure this out together.

See you in Boston!
